Well done and thank you

Well Done!

Congratulations to everyone who took part in yesterday’s Solent Coasts Cycling Challenge. We hope that you all got home safely and that any aches and pains will only be temporary.

If you have any photos or recollections that you would like to share then please email them to us at info@solentchallenge.org.uk or, better still, ‘Like’ our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/solentchallenge and post them there. Our marshalls who took photos on the day have also uploaded theirs to the Facebook page so see if you can spot yourself.

Please encourage all your sponsors who are tax payers to tick the Gift Aid box. We can only reclaim this tax if their name and home address are legible.

If you have not already raised any sponsorship, this is an ideal time to tell your friends and family about your amazing personal achievement; you can still open an online Justgiving page at http://www.justgiving.com/hadirect . This is a really efficient and easy way to raise sponsorship and is totally safe.

If anyone requires proof of participation for employer match funding schemes then please indicate this when you send in your sponsorship cheques.

Remember that apart from very minimal overheads all the funds raised will go to the UK registered charity supported by this event – Hope and Aid Direct. All the organisers and marshals of the Solent Coasts Cycling Challenge are active volunteers with Hope and Aid Direct – we give our time and effort freely to organise this event.

Making it even better

Although this has been the 12th Solent Coasts Cycling Challenge we are always finding ways to make it better. If anyone has any comments or suggestions that they would like to make about any aspect of the event then we would be very grateful to receive them by email.

Medals

All successful Challengers qualify for our Event medal. If you did not receive yours when you finished yesterday, then reply to this email and we will post one out to you.

Thank you

Finally – thank you all for taking part. Everyone I spoke to on the day found it to be a real challenge with the hot weather conditions but nevertheless a rewarding and enjoyable experience.

We look forward to seeing you again at next year’s event.

  1. Hi
Just to inform you that my son and I did not receive a medal after completing the challenge, our numbers were 22 & 23. We finished at the Hythe ferry port Southampton

    1. Thanks Peter. Medals will be on their way to you shortly.
P.s. I’ve removed your address from your comment so it’s not available to the general public.
