Organiser Malcolm Havercroft with BBC Radio Solent's Katie MartinIn an interview with Solent Coasts organiser Malcolm Havercroft on Friday, Katie Martin has announced that she will be joining the challenge in June.

The BBC Radio Solent presenter admits that she is a little nervous and asked about whether padded pants were needed for the challenge!

In the interview on Katie’s Friday afternoon show Katie said:

“I think it sounds absolutely wonderful and I have a favour to ask of you now. Would you mind if I piggybacked on to your challenge and joined you over the course of the summer for a bit of training and for the big day?”

Of course we are delighted to have Katie along even though she says that there may be “whinging and there might even be tears”!

You can keep up to date with Katie’s progress over on her facebook page.
